Housing & Meals
China Study Program students share double rooms in the newly constructed international residence halls at Tsinghua University. They will be living alongside other international students. Rooms are small but modern, and most have a private bathroom, desks, TV, telephone, heater, and air conditioner. The Resident Director will provide close supervision and assistance with all living needs. Students receive an allowance for meals so they can purchase their own food at the student cafeterias or at nearby restaurants.
As international students of Tsinghua University, China Study Program participants will have access to many of the campus facilities and activities. The University has excellent sports facilities, including basketball and tennis courts and a modern aquatic center, within a short walk from the resident halls. The surrounding community offers easy access to a variety of Chinese and foreign restaurants, cafes, shops, and the mass transit system.
Exchange with Chinese Students & Young People
Components of the China Study Program have been designed to bring together Chinese and American peers for cultural exchange and friendship building. These include joint academic, social and recreational activities, as well as community service projects. This type of personal interaction helps promote intercultural understanding and helps build positive relationships between China and North America.
